Michael J Was Innocent…
In ‘Michael Jackson was Innocent and I Didn’t Kill Jonbenet Ramsey… But I Was There the Night She Died’, award-winning queer performance artist Michael Burke explores his journey from being a high school dropout prostitute to a college professor. Written by Burke, directed & designed by Gian Marco Lo Forte with Pioneers Go East Co. and performer/collaborator Daniel Diaz, the work uses found & original text, live video camera, vintage clips and dolls to tell the story of corruption, wealth and tabloids told from the eyes of a teenager in the early 1990’s in NYC.
Collective: Devised by Michael Burke, Gian Marco Lo Forte and Daniel Diaz. Written and performed by Michael Burke, direction and design Gian Marco Lo Forte, Daniel Diaz (performer)
